Not officially. IMO’s calling feature is restricted in the UAE unless used through telecom-approved packages. You can use IMO for messaging, but video and voice calls may not connect unless routed through licensed channels. The country’s regulations allow only government-approved VoIP apps to function freely. For consistent quality, it’s better to use licensed services like BOTIM or apps built with similar compliance goals. FaceCall, for example, is being structured to meet UAE approval standards while maintaining privacy and reliable connectivity.
IMO’s messaging works, but its free calling feature doesn’t function unless accessed through a licensed UAE provider. That’s because only approved VoIP apps are allowed to make calls in the country. If you rely on IMO for calls, you’ll likely experience failed connections. Using compliant apps like BOTIM or a privacy-driven, license-ready platform like FaceCall ensures reliable and legal video calling in the UAE.
